The mid-fuselage is the long, central section of the Orbiter. It is where payloads are stored. It is also where the fuel cells that generate electric power for the OrbiterÕs electrical systems are located. The oxygen and nitrogen used for the crew compartmentÕs atmosphere is also stored under the floor of the payload bay.
